Dalia Salaheldin is an independent writer, instructor, and consultant.

She is a specialist in introducing Islam to non-Muslims and new Muslims.

She is the founder of Reading Islam Project, and currently is a main consultant, writer, and editorial board member of Reading Islam website.

She initiated the interactive service of Ask About Islam (AAI) in June 2002 in response to the overwhelming number of questions received from readers after the events of September 11, 2001.

She continued managing it as coordinator and editor up till January 2006.

Occasionally, she still answers questions to Ask About Islam as one of its major consultants and writes for the different pages of ReadingIslam.com.

She is the founder of Reading Islam Academy and Cultural Center, which is currently being established under her supervision.

She holds a Masters degree in TAFL (Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language) from the American University in Cairo (Fall 2003) and currently teaches Arabic Language, with a specialization in Quranic readings for non-Arabic speakers in the American University in Cairo.

She received her BA in Journalism and Mass Communication from the American University in Cairo (Summer 1994) and has worked for various media and writing institutions as a freelance writer and editor, in both the Arabic and English languages.

In 1992, she seriously started pursing in-depth independent studies in the Islamic fields through various channels of knowledge that encompassed studies in Al-Azhar institutions, mosques, private tutoring, and home schooling.

She is also a social activist and has been involved in various dawah and philanthropic activities.

She occasionally gives presentations about Islam and answers to questions related in various circles; domestic, conferences and academic venues, for Arab and non-Arab audiences.

She hosted an Islamic un-screened women-only entertainment show for seven years.

She has also shared in hosting and editing a social TV talk-show, dealing with the Muslim family and women's daily life issues throughout four consecutive years.

She has been occasionally hosted on informative shows about Islam for Arab and non-Arab audiences, in different satellite channels.

She writes articles and proems in both Arabic and English languages in relation to social and global issues.

She occasionally practices photography as a hobby.
